Marilyn Sanford, Owner and President of La Scala Home Cinema & Integrated Media (La Scala), was inducted into the Custom Design & Installation Association's (CEDIA'S) Fellows program during the Electronic Lifestyles Awards Banquet on Saturday, September 12th in Atlanta. CEDIA's Fellows program honors longtime CEDIA volunteers and members who have contributed to the association's success. In addition, Sanford won best 2009 Certified CEDIA Instructor of the year, as well as CEDIA's ten top instructors in the industry overall.
Each year CEDIA recognizes the best of the best in the residential electronic systems industry. Sanford's company, La Scala, obtained the following CEDIA awards:
- 2009 Best Large Home Theater Overall Winner
- Best Large Home Theatre in its Class, Level Six Gold Technical Design
- Best Integrated Home, Level Eight Gold Technical Design
- Best Documentation
La Scala also received the coveted Lutron manufacturer award in the category of "Best Lighting for Home Theatre".

The announcement of the first CEDIA Fellows and the awards banquet coincided with the year-long celebration of CEDIA's 20th anniversary, and the CEDIA EXPO 2009 in Atlanta, which is the largest show of its kind worldwide, with over 20,000 attendees.
CEDIA is an international trade association of companies that specialize in designing and installing electronic systems for the home. The association was founded in September 1989 and has more than 3,500 member companies worldwide. Marilyn is a Founding Member and Past President of CEDIA Canada. She is an active industry advocate who participates on CEDIA boards and instructs at CEDIA expos.
